I'm using plaster and acrylic paint a lot lately. I love the 3D texture and effect it gives.
Hope you like it too. :)

Moving into a larger studio space this weekend.
I'm very excited to be moving into a larger studio space soon. It's in the same building but a larger space. I'll post pics as soon as I'm all moved in. I've been painting larger pieces and have outgrown my current space. I was tripping over things constantly.
I saw the Winnie the Pooh Movie last week. It was surprisingly good. :) I also had a chance to visit the Dali Museum in Florida. I'm pretty convinced now that we are celebrating the works of a madman. He seemed insane. He even had a quote that said "The difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad". Seems right to me. His art is amazing and well thought out but there's a section on his life. Photography of him and it's totally crazy time.
I can't wait to get moved in and back to painting. I want to paint more minis for Christmas ornaments and I have an idea for another larger piece involving resin and glazes.

A study in Red

I don't have a name for this one yet. I've been doing a lot of abstracts lately. I love to see how the colors react together. I love the movement and depth you can get with paint. The surprises of color.

Hero
I have been thinking a lot lately about our heroes.
Some unsung heroes.. like firemen, nurses and doctors.
I started to paint this firemen's helmet and found myself wanting to make it a firemen's helmet for america, not just a particular city.
both paintings are oil, 3x3 inches and include a little easel. Makes great gifts. $15 Thanks for looking

Zebra Chair
18x24 inches $175
I painted this Zebra Print chair from one of my dining room chairs. I bought a set of 6 of these chairs at an auction in Rosenberg, Texas. Not all have held up through the years. They originally had a tan fabric seat and were a dark wood frame. I painted them black and covered the seat with a soft zebra print. We once had a dinner party and one of our guest was sitting in one of the chairs when the leg gave out and brought him tumbling to the ground. We have since bought new chairs.
